Your Pokémon’s stats

Copy the stats from your Pokémon’s summary screen. Leave EVs at 0 for a Pokémon you just caught or hatched. After it levels up, add another reading to narrow the IVs down.

What are Pokémon IVs?

The Pokemon IV Calculator helps you estimate the hidden Individual Values behind HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed using the stats visible in your game.

Individual values, or IVs, are hidden numbers from 0 to 31 that every Pokémon has for each of its six stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. They are set when the Pokémon is caught, hatched or received, and they never change.

Two Pokémon of the same species, level and nature can have different stats because of their IVs. At level 100 an IV adds its full value to the stat, so a 31 IV gives 31 more points than a 0 IV. At level 50 it adds about half that.

This IV calculator works them out from the numbers on your summary screen, for regular Pokémon and for Pokémon Infinite Fusion fusions.

How to use the Pokemon IV Calculator

  1. Choose Base Pokémon or Infinite Fusion, then pick the Pokémon, or the head and body.
  2. Select its nature. If you don’t know it, choose “I don’t know” and the calculator will find the natures that fit.
  3. Enter its level and all six stats from the summary screen.
  4. Enter its EVs if it has been trained. Leave them at 0 for a Pokémon that was just caught or hatched.
  5. Read the IV range for each stat. If a stat shows a range, level the Pokémon up, then add a reading with the new level and stats to narrow it down.

Press “Fill an example” to see how it works with made-up IVs you can check against. The console buttons work too: up and down change the Pokémon or head, left and right change the body, A fills an example and B clears the stats.

The stat formula behind the calculator

Pokémon Infinite Fusion uses the same stat formulas as the modern main series games:

HP = ⌊(2 × Base + IV + ⌊EV ÷ 4⌋) × Level ÷ 100⌋ + Level + 10

Other stats = ⌊(⌊(2 × Base + IV + ⌊EV ÷ 4⌋) × Level ÷ 100⌋ + 5) × Nature⌋

The nature multiplier is 1.1 for the raised stat, 0.9 for the lowered stat and 1 for the rest. The calculator tries every IV from 0 to 31 and keeps the ones that give exactly your stat.

How good are my IVs?

IV ratings used by the calculator
IVRating
31Best
30Fantastic
26 – 29Very good
16 – 25Pretty good
1 – 15Decent
0No good

For a playthrough, IVs matter far less than level, nature, moves and typing. They matter most for competitive battles, speed ties and Hidden Power.

Pokemon Infinite Fusion IV Calculator

The Pokemon IV Calculator also supports Pokémon Infinite Fusion. In fusion mode it uses the fusion’s own base stats. HP, Special Attack and Special Defense come two-thirds from the head, while Attack, Defense and Speed come two-thirds from the body. Enter the stats shown on the fused Pokémon’s summary screen to calculate its possible IVs. You can also check the full fused stats in the Pokemon Infinite Fusion Calculator or test battle damage with the Pokémon Damage Calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What are IVs in Pokémon?

IVs, or individual values, are hidden numbers from 0 to 31 for each of a Pokémon's six stats. They are set when the Pokémon is caught or hatched and never change. A higher IV means a higher stat, up to 31 extra points at level 100.

How does the IV calculator work?

It tries every IV from 0 to 31 for each stat and keeps the ones that give exactly the stat shown in your game, using the Pokémon's base stats, level, nature and EVs. If more than one IV fits, it shows the range.

Why do I get a range instead of one exact IV?

At low levels, several IVs can round to the same stat. Add another reading after the Pokémon levels up, with its new stats, and the calculator keeps only the IVs that fit both. Readings at higher levels narrow the range the most.

What if I don't know my Pokémon's nature?

Choose I don't know. The calculator tests all 25 natures and lists only the ones that fit your stats, with the IVs for each.

Does the IV calculator work for Infinite Fusion Pokémon?

Yes. In fusion mode it uses the fusion's own base stats, worked out from the head and body with Infinite Fusion rules, so you can check the IVs of a fused Pokémon directly from the stats on its summary screen.

Do EVs affect the IV calculation?

Yes. EVs from battling also raise stats, so enter them if your Pokémon has been trained. A freshly caught or hatched Pokémon has no EVs, which is the default.
